Courses Offered at The University of Zagreb

University of Zagreb School of Medicine Admission & Entry Requirements

Due to the different grading systems in countries around the globe, this university requires an evaluation of secondary school grades as a criterion for admission. You will have to pass the written exams in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

The test consists of 120 questions, with 40 questions per subject. To pass the exam, you need at least 15 right answers in each section and an overall score of more than 61 correct answers.

The University makes exceptions for the following:

  • Students who have completed a pre-medical college or passed internationally recognised exams like the MCAT with a minimum score of 125 for each section;
  • Students who have earned BA/BSc degrees in natural sciences with good credits in Biology, physics, and chemistry;
  • Students who have taken the SAT in biology, physics, and chemistry with a minimum score of 600 in each subject;
  • Students who have taken the BMAT test.

Also, you will need to show proof of English knowledge in case the student's mother tongue language is not English, or the student hasn't fully completed their education in English.

Please note that you don’t need to sit the entrance exam to get into the undergraduate programme for pharmacy or veterinary medicine. Instead, prospective students are evaluated based on their high school diploma and the grades of their state matriculation exams.
