Named after the physiologist Alexander A. Bogomolets, the National Medical College is a medical school founded in Kyiv by Russian Czar Nicolas I in 1841. More than 10,000 students, including about 1,300 foreigners from Asian and Middle Eastern countries, are provided with medical training by NMU. The university employs approximately 1,200 teaching staff.
The Bogomolets National Medical University provides students with different courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The university is composed of 10 departments. A separate Institute for Post Graduate Education is also available at Bogomolets National Medical University. The university is a leader in the area of healthcare preparation for medical specialists and research staff. About 1500 professors are at Bogomolets National Medical University. 855 PhDs and 205 Doctors of Sciences were included in the statistics. Therefore, students are educated in the field of medicine by experts and academicians.
There’s no graduate entry here, but student transfers are accepted.

The tuition fee for the 6-year medicine in English course is around €4,000 per year, making it one of the cheapest medical universities in Europe. Dentistry and Pharmacy programmes are 5 years. The tuition fees for dentistry are €3600 for the first year and €4975 for the following years. The tuition fees for pharmacy are €3700 for the first year and €4075 for the following years.
Like most medical universities in Ukraine, Bogomolets University doesn’t require you to pass an entry exam. The admission requirements are a secondary education certificate and written and oral English proficiency.

The Bogomolets National Medical University is recognised mostly in Ukraine and India. As for countries from the west, it’s best to ask your local medical council before taking steps to study at BNMU.
There are student hostels that can accommodate you throughout your studies. The quality of the rooms is average; they have all the necessary furniture and equipment. If you choose private accommodation, there are many options available near the university.
Renting a single-bedroom apartment in Kyiv will cost you around €300 per month. With monthly utilities of around €80 and expenses for food and leisure, you can expect to spend between €450 – €550 per month.
The academic year usually starts on 1st September. The university will provide schedules.
